Rare Breed Documentary Sizzle

In this documentary portrait, we explore the extraordinary world of an African-American livestock breeder named Alex Dees. He hails from Yuma City, Arizona, a small agriculture town near the California/Mexico border. Mr. Dees owned and operated Dees Brothers Brangus, a 160-acre cattle ranch for over five decades. He had a reputation for producing some of the best quality cattle in the Brangus Breed. He was a member of the International Brangus Breeders Association and the winner of countless awards. He rose through the ranks to become a highly sought after livestock judge around the United States and abroad. Unfortunately, after being hit with a life threatening illness, Mr. Dees had to auction off his herd which ultimately ended the great legacy he spent so many years building.
